Moving On: 3 Things to Know About Tattoo Removal

Tattoo Removal Elmhurst, ILWhether you were drunk on the strip in Vegas or you just thought that a tramp stamp would look really cool on the small of your back, sometimes tattoos are good for one thing: having them removed. And although tattoos are known to be permanent, with the help of laser and our staff here at Allure Skin and Laser, we can get your tattoo removed in no time. So, what exactly is tattoo removal? Let’s take a closer look.

It Will Require Multiple Treatments

No matter where your tattoo is located, how big it is, and the colors involved in it, there is one thing for certain: it will always require more than one treatment. The exact amount of procedures needed will depend on a variety of things specifically the type of ink used and the colors of ink. During your initial consultation, we will try to narrow down how many treatments you need, but that number may vary as we start your sessions.

It’s Natural

So, what do we mean when we say that laser tattoo removal is natural? Here at Allure Skin and Laser, we use a laser called The Alma Harmony Q-Switch YAG 1064 which uses natural light energy to target the pigment in your skin. Similar to how sunlight is made up of different wavelengths of colors, this laser produces specific wavelengths of light. When the tattoo ink in the skin is targeted by these wavelengths, it absorbs the ink and destructs it in the process.

It May Take Time

Some people think that they will come into our office one day and leave a few hours later with their tattoo completely removed. However, as previously mentioned, not only does laser tattoo removal require multiple sessions, but it also requires patients to space sessions about 4-6 weeks apart from each other.
