Say “Adios” to Your Spider and Varicose Veins: The Art of Sclerotherapy
- Posted on: Dec 15 2016
If you have either spider or varicose veins they can not only be painful and uncomfortable, but they can also make you self-conscious as well. If you can’t even remember the last time that you wore shorts or showed off your legs because you are so self-conscious about your veins, then now is the time to kiss your veins goodbye with the art of sclerotherapy. Read on to learn more.
What is Sclerotherapy?
Sclerotherapy is a non-surgical treatment that eliminates both varicose and spider veins. By injecting a solution directly into the veins, sclerotherapy works to irritate the blood vessel and cause them to collapse. Once the veins have collapsed, they will permanently disappear— leaving you with the vein-free skin that you have always wanted.
What is Treatment Like?
Undergoing any new treatment procedure can be nerve-wracking. However, you can rest assured that the experts at Allure Skin and Laser will take care of you and give you the best results possible. When you first arrive at our office for treatment, your skin will be cleaned. Once cleaned, one of our certified technicians will inject your veins with the solution— after which, you will experience some discomfort and cramping for a few minutes as your veins fill with the solution. Lasting about 20-30 minutes on average, you will be able to resume your regular activity directly after you leave the office.
What is Recovery Like?
Due to its non-invasive nature, recovery from sclerotherapy is straightforward. For the first 48 hours after treatment, you should avoid taking warm baths, applying hot compresses to your skin, or spending time in the sun. Additionally, patients should avoid taking any Ibuprofen, aspirin, or other anti-inflammatory medications for the same 48 hours post treatment.
