Want to Lift and Tighten Your Skin? What to Know About PDO Thread Lift

PDO Thread Lift Elmhurst, ILIf you feel like your self-esteem is starting to plummet along with the collagen and elasticity in your skin, then you may want to start looking into some of the treatments that we offer here at Allure Skin and Laser. Although we do offer traditional treatments like fillers and Botox, let’s take a closer look at one of our more unique treatments: a PDO thread lift.

What’s a PDO Thread Lift?

If you have never heard of a PDO thread lift, you are not alone, but that’s what we are here for. A PDO thread lift involves inserting threads made of polydioxanone or PDO into various parts of the skin. This type of thread is made up of the same material that absorbable sutures are made from which allows them to be naturally absorbed by the body through a process called hydrolysis. This process instantly lifts and tightens the tissues in the skin and stimulates the body’s natural production of collagen around the threads.

How Long Does It Last for?

Similar to other minimally invasive treatments, a PDO thread lift is only temporary. However, some patients get results that last up to two entire years.

Am I a Good Candidate for a PDO Thread Lift?

Typically, patients who are good candidates for a PDO thread lift have mild facial sagging on their cheeks, around their brows, their jowls, and their neck.

What Are Results Like?

Results from a PDO thread lift are very similar to a facelift but aren’t quite as dramatic. As previously mentioned, patients who get a PDO thread lift see immediate lifting and firming in the skin. Results will also get better as the threads are absorbed by the body.
