Pick Up a Pen and Paper: Learn More About SkinPen

skinPen Addison, ILWith your cell phone taking up your need to have to write things down or leave reminder notes for your significant other,  you may have given up on traditional pens and paper altogether. And although you still won’t need to hit up your local office-supply store anytime soon, there is a different type of pen you should consider investing in: SkinPen. Read on to learn more.

What is SkinPen?

If visions of your three-year-old scribbling on your face with a pen are entering your mind, have no fear— this is not that kind of treatment. SkinPen is a medical treatment that is designed to create hundreds of microscopic channels in your skin. By creating these small channels, your skin will naturally work to heal itself— in turn, giving you smoother skin that has more collagen.

What is SkinPen Used for?

One thing is for certain; SkinPen is not used for writing notes to your coworkers or love of your life— we will leave that to your 8th-grade self. SkinPen is used to treat things like fine lines and wrinkles, blemishes caused by acne, sun damage, hyperpigmentation, and even stretch marks.

What is the Procedure Like?

As a minimally non-invasive procedure, SkinPen is done in our office in around an hour. Depending on the area of your body that we are targeting and what is being treated, a topical numbing gel may be applied to your skin to help you feel more comfortable and relaxed. Once you are comfortable, one of our experienced technicians will place the SkinPen on your skin, and you may feel a slight pinching sensation. This process is repeated over and over.

What Are Results Like?

Let’s just say that after a few treatment sessions, you may feel like SkinPen is more of a magic wand than a pen itself. Patients receive results from SkinPen that they are beyond thrilled about.
